Biography
Ahmad Miralai was a prominent Iranian translator, writer, and teacher, born in Isfahan in 1942. Educated in England and France, he translated hundreds of stories and poems and over 30 books. He was killed at the age of 53 in 1995 as a victim of the state-linked Chain Murders, having previously signed an open letter in protest of another killing.
احمد میرعلائی، مترجم، نویسنده و معلم برجسته ایرانی، متولد سال ۱۳۲۱ در اصفهان بود. او تحصیلکرده انگلستان و فرانسه بود و صدها داستان و شعر و بیش از ۳۰ کتاب را ترجمه کرد. میرعلائی در سال ۱۹۹۵ و در سن ۵۳ سالگی، به عنوان قربانی قتلهای زنجیرهای مرتبط با دولت کشته شد؛ او پیش از آن نامهای سرگشاده را در اعتراض به قتلی دیگر امضا کرده بود.
